Hey Shannon, any tips on drawing the roots of trees? I've been doing more drawing lately but trees are FUCKIN PISSING ME OFF :)

Trees fucking suck. There's really no trick to it, just draw from reference images and study actual trees. I'm assuming you're talking about the big roots at the base, not the ones underground, so you can definitely find millions of pics on the internet to help...sorry, that's really all there is to it. It's like anything else, the more you draw it, the more comfortable with the subject you are and eventually you can draw them accurately from memory.

What are you drawing trees for? Just for the sake of drawing (which is awesome)?

Damn... Yeah, just cuz. I've been goofing around with muro, check out my scraps if you wanna see. I was on a shrooms kick for a while and drew a bunch of trippy stuff... haha. I dunno, drawing's just fun.
